Geri's Game

January 23, 2008

An oldie but a goodie. Geri's Game was our first introduction to the short films that Pixar continues to produce today. It was added to the beginning of Toy Story, one of the best animated films of all time.

Pixar's position with every film (even these short ones) has been consistent: "Learn something new every time." Sage advice from old pros.

Geri's Game was meant to be an exercise in figuring out cloth dynamics, something that was utilized heavily in The Incredibles. Similarly, their short "For the Birds" (could not find a clean version to show you here) was meant to be an exercise in figuring out 3D feathers, to be used both in Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo.
