Side Effects May Include

Let me elaborate on my addiction to Starbucks. I started with iced chai, nice and mellow. Then one morning I inexplicably woke up wide awake at 4:30. I lived in Dallas at the time, so I figured I'd go ahead and get up and beat the traffic. On the way in I decided to stop off at Starbucks and get something full of caffeine and ice. I bought a venti iced mocha and I still remember that day of work as being one of my most productive ever.

Every so often I have to take a day or two off. We travel a lot, and I purposefully try to not drink it then.

Now that I work from home, going to Starbucks is my chance to get out of the house on a regular basis. Erica, Ryan, Bill, Lauren and Bill are the current caffeine pimps (aka baristas) at my local store, and they do a convincing job of feigning interest in my existence.

My current drink of choice is a quad iced venti, 4 pump, no whip mocha. What's your drink?

before 3pm: some variation of a non-fat, upside-down caramel macchiato (grande, iced venti, or triple venti) after 3pm: (grande) non-fat, no water chai (unless i don't care that i'll be up very late, then it's probably a CM)

Does the macchiato have caffeine? I don't even know.

Once in a while I get daring and try some kinda wierd latte (I call 'em a late), but 98% of the time I just want a grande drip. Sometimes a double espresso's good for what ails me. Not good for a teacher, though...when I started teaching I could hold my water all day, no sweat. As 40 closes in on me, however, I really gotta dehydrate to get through the day. Sorry for the personal tangent.

Ha! That's excellent Matt. I use my Mac for animation these days, on my right with the Wacom (not represented in this animation as it would have covered my face). The laptop is actually my Dell and it has a separate mouse and keyboard.

I'm actually interested in running Synergy, but I have not yet set it up. I guess I should get on it.

Hereabouts they call 'em I.C. Mochas, but what they don't call 'em is "The Coffee Milkshake That is Singlehandedly 700 Calories." Or, if you will, the "Cautionary Tale."

You probably already know about these episodes, but here's an animators take on "Starshmucks Coffee": Coffee-house propaganda, by Ian Mathers, http://www.illwillpress.com/coffeehouse.html and on sizes... Small, medium, large, by Ian Mathers as well, http://www.illwillpress.com/sml.html

Well, let me put it this way.... before my son Dominic turned 2, he could say "Venti Iced quad one pump mocha" from hearing me order it in the drive thru so often.
